            Dragon Eggs require heat in order to hatch although the heat source does not require a funeral pyre and you do not have to walk into the flames as Daenerys Targaryen a.k.a. Dany did in Game Of Thrones to calm her dragons but it will certainly help you get the nickname “Mother of Dragons”. Dragons have a tendency to remember and reward acts of kindness when they are most vulnerable.

           Gingerbread was first baked in Europe at the end of the 11th century when the Crusaders brought back the spicy bread from the Middle East. Ginger was not only tasty but it had the properties to help preserve the bread. Gingerbread is still popular today as seen in this painting of the baker standing on her front porch with her baked gingerbread ready to serve anybody who cares to join her on her gumdrop front lawn.

          This wonderful old house used to be near where I lived. It was a wooden frame Victorian building. It was the epitome of what a haunted house should look like. It’s been torn down with new smaller houses built in it’s place. This is an original print from a linoleum block, carved and hand printed by me. It is on heavyweight Rives paper. The image area is 8.5 x10.75 & has at least an inch border around the image to make matting easier. This print is not matted or framed. Signed & numbered at the bottom of each print.

      Here is a recent poll illustrating the declining popularity of Mitt Zombie over the past four years.

     Bub’s recent surge in the polls is not surprising due to his ability to learn and his campaign slogan “I can learn”

    Old Guthrie’s increase in popularity is interesting because he is not an American born citizen and his campaign slogan is “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie”, although he does promise that if elected, everyone will receive a free Breakfast at  Manchester Morgue.

An overgrown iron gate stands sentinel to the grounds, waiting for the brave soul to venture near.      The life of a zombie Presidential Candidate is hectic. Resisting the temptation to eat the hand you are supposed to shake, a zombie politician can work up a real appetite. Here Mitt (Zombie) Romney went to a zombie restaurant but was so impatient that he decided to eat his own arm and hand instead of waiting 15 minutes for his meal to be served. Mitt Zombie redefines the concept of “fast food”.

       One of the more liberating services you can acquire is switching to a high speed wireless internet service. The time you will save will amaze you. There are a vast array of speeds and services to meet your budget and if that is not affordable your local library offers a free high speed wireless service. All you have to do is bring in your laptop and tablet and ask the librarian how to connect to their free wireless service. If you do not have a laptop or tablet, the library has computers you can use to surf the internet on, all you need is a free library card. Most libraries offer free introductory classes to using a computer if you need help. Ask the librarian and they will be glad to help you get started. Cut the cord!

John Boehner Does Not Believe In Halloween!

      Just because Halloween has a long tradition of giving children dressed in costume candy for free does not mean that House of Representative leader John Boehner has to follow that long standing generous tradition.

       Maybe the best excuse for his behavior is that John is bringing his work home with him and he is confusing his philosophy on sequestration and budget cuts with Halloween. On the other hand, those house signs banning handouts seem pretty explicit.

With John Boehner you can plan on more tricks than treats.

       It is another holiday weekend and the Flea Markets appear both small and large. Whether it is your neighbor down the street selling her outgrown baby clothes or the national organization that fills your local convention center with hundreds of vendors or somewhere in between, the experience is the same for the buyer.

It may appear that the buyer attends because he or she is looking for a particular item, but  it can be much more than that. The uncertainty of what you will find when you approach a flea market booth, the interaction with the seller and the surprise of finding something that strikes your fancy are all elements of the flea market experience. With the flea market, it is the journey and not just the destination.
