President Obama, Fight To Extend Unemployment Benefits
President Obama left town 5 months ago for the tropical climate of Hawaii during the Christmas holiday season while promising to fix the cutoff of long term unemployment benefits, leaving the unemployed with a sudden loss of benefits while having to face the coldest winter (along with their heating bills) in a generation.
In 5 months time the Senate has passed a bill to enable unemployment benefits to continue thanks to Senate leader Harry Reid. Outside of one photo op and one speech on getting employers to hire the long term unemployed, where has President Obama been on this issue? Answer: President Obama is Missing In Inaction.
Perhaps he is running out the clock waiting for the end of his presidency. Perhaps his inaction is due to the fact that there are not anymore elections to win, so no more need for your vote.
Regardless of whether this point of view regarding President Obama is cynical or realistic, that does not change the fact that you need to contact President Obama and House leader John Boehner to let them know you are paying attention to their actions or inaction and that you will vote accordingly this November.

Extend Unemployment Benefits Part 3
Congress left town 4 months ago for their Christmas holiday vacation vacation without extending unemployment benefits. Congress promised to fix it when they returned but Congress has not fixed the problem while the unemployed are still trying to survive winter without benefits.
President Obama was in Hawaii during his two week Christmas holiday vacation enjoying the tropical climate while 1.6 million people lost their unemployment benefits while facing record cold temperatures and heating bills.
I guess our President is a big fan of irony!
We have reelected you & need much more than a speech & a photo op. Profile the unemployed to create pressure on Congress from their voters. Polls shows that 58% of Americans support the unemployment benefit extension. We would rather see you try and fail instead of doing practically nothing.
All it takes is an email, phone call or letter to remind your President, Senator and Representative of their promises to extend these unemployment benefits upon their return to work. Contact President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden to let them where you stand on this important issue.

President Obama Embraces Unemployment Part 2
December 28th 2013 – President Obama, while vacationing in Hawaii, told the long term unemployed that their benefits have expired today, but they are in his prayers as they seek to
survive through the cold winter months without their lifeline. Obama said that he hopes that Congress will reinstate long term unemployment insurance when they return next month.
Defending his administration’s apparent lack of compassion the President said “that the unemployed will be getting this nice T-shirt when I return”!
